Creating a simple and casual fall tablescape for Thanksgiving

Canadian Thanksgiving is next week, and it’s still not too late to put together a pretty fall tablescape to celebrate the occasion. This year I went with a simple tablescape, featuring a linen tablecloth (yes, tablecloths are BACK!), my beautiful new stoneware dinner plates (use my code: LILYJUNEHOME10OFF at checkout), and a vase and florals I already owned.

Creating a beautiful tablescape does not need to stress you out. Shopping your home, and investing in pieces that can be used throughout the year are key.

Gather your Table Essentials

When you create your tablescape, it’s best to use items that can be used all year round. For example, my new stoneware plates are in a beautiful grey shade that can be used during any season – it’s just a matter of using colour in the napkins or florals to “theme” your table to the season. I paired these plates with black and white ticked napkins, and moody florals to amplify the fall vibes.

  • Plates (any kind)
  • Flatware (I love black for fall and to add a touch of modern!)
  • Napkins (can be cloth or paper)
  • Tablecloth or placemats (you can also forego this for an even more casual feel)

Next up - the centerpiece

Last year I created a beautiful floral bowl centerpiece (all with grocery florals!) and this year I used these plum faux stems. Dried florals are also huge for harvest, look pretty and last forever. Take the florals of your choice, and place them in a vase to add height to the table. Add in ambience with candleholders and candles to finish off your fall tablescape. My candleholders are from a Canadian brand I love, and they so kindly gave me a discount code you can use at checkout – click here to shop and use: LILYJUNE for 15% off.

Now, pour a glass of wine and enjoy kicking off hosting season!
