Easter holds a special place in my heart. It might have to do with the amount of chocolate you can consume or it might be that it’s a sign spring is near…both are high on my favourites list.
As a kid, my Easter memories were always how fun it was. We used to go to my grandparent’s farm, do the big egg hunt, and of course, eat nothing but chocolate and candy – any kid’s dream come true. Fast forward to today, and with our almost 3-year old daughter, Easter is so much fun again with her around. Last year we were just thrown into this lockdown situation, and just did a mini egg hunt for Aria. She was just turning two, and totally grasped the idea of searching for eggs. She loved it, and was so thrilled every time she found a new egg. With her being even more animated than last year, I am so excited to watch her hunt for eggs again.
I am hopeful that we will get to see our families for Easter, but if we are still not allowed to gather, you can still have a pretty table! There is just something refreshing about a spring table scape…don’t you agree?
I love a simple and pretty table. This table has pops of green and purple, and texture through the rattan chargers. The ceramic bunnies add an element of fun without being too over the top Easter. I usually start decorating my table with greenery, whether it be a garland or a floral arrangement – it immediately creates softness from the hard table surface. It also helps set the placement of your other decor and place settings.
I used a eucalyptus garland, and added in another spring garland I had (from Aria’s first birthday ha). Combining them created this beautiful center piece on the table. I then filled it in further with succulent stems and sprigs of lavender for additional colour.
My next step is to add in any little accents to set the “theme” of the table. Here I used these cute wooden bunny napkin holders (Similar here), and added in sprigs of lavender to tie it back to the garland. I placed my ceramic bunnies (from Homesense, of course) in the garland, and added in some coloured eggs for extra Easter effect.
I love rattan. And when I found these rattan chargers I was SO excited. They are fun and they add texture to the table. Rattan is a big trend right now, and typically is seen in boho, coastal or traditional styles – which is why I love it. It’s very versatile and classic. These chargers are from Williams Sonoma.
The final touch… tulips! Because it wouldn’t be Easter without tulips right?!? These tulips are fully representative of March in Calgary….they are a bit sad, but still pretty and help add in more colour to the table.
