Back from a few exciting days at High Point Market. I averaged 20,000 steps a day to find the latest and greatest in the furniture world. If you haven’t heard of High Point Market, it’s one of the world’s largest home furnishing industry events where style, innovation and latest trends take center stage twice a year. For those passionate about design—like us!—this is the place to be. High Point Market is more than a display of stunning new products; it’s a peek into the future of interiors, giving us (and you) fresh ideas to create a place that truly feels like home.
One thing to note on trends, and if you have been following along with me for years you know that trends are fun, but treat trends as a resource and not a handbook. They can guide certain choices for sure, but really your home should be filled with things that bring YOU joy!
With that said, let’s dive into some of the ‘trends’ we spotted this season and how you can easily incorporate these elements into your home if you love ’em!
1. Nature-Inspired Everything
This season, natural materials like rattan, cane, and reclaimed wood were everywhere. From tables with a rustic charm to light fixtures with organic curves, this trend celebrates the beauty of nature in our living spaces. This is a trend I already love to incorporate into my projects.
To bring this into your home, consider adding a statement rattan chair in a reading nook or a reclaimed wood coffee table for a touch of warmth and sustainability.
2. Warm Hues + Jewel Tones
Jewel tones like emerald green, deep sapphire, and amber are reigning supreme, giving spaces a cozy and sophisticated feel. Warm, earthy hues like terracotta and honey were also popular, making interiors feel both luxurious and inviting. Shades of brown and beige were also in almost every showroom
An easy way to play with these colors is through accent pillows, throws, or even a feature wall in one of these rich shades.
3. Bold Geometric Patterns + Pattern Play
Geometric patterns took a front seat this fall, adding a fun and dynamic touch to furnishings. Whether on rugs, wallpaper, or accent pillows, these shapes make a bold statement without overwhelming a room. Florals were also popular in many of the showrooms.
Try incorporating this look through a geometric area rug or a few patterned cushions to add visual interest to a neutral palette. And if pairing patterns intimidate you, remember an easy rule is one large pattern paired with a smaller pattern – it always works!
4. Curves Everywhere
Curved sofas, rounded coffee tables, and organic shapes in furniture are softening spaces and making them more inviting. This sculptural trend blends functionality with artistry, creating focal points in any room. For a taste of this look, try a rounded ottoman or a chair with soft, flowing lines that add a sense of fluidity to your home.
5. Vintage Revival
Nostalgia has a strong pull this season, with vintage-inspired pieces bringing in a dose of charm and character. Think mid-century modern furniture, art deco patterns, and even some retro ‘70s colors making a comeback. To add this trend to your home, consider a retro-inspired armchair or even a vintage-style bar cart—perfect for entertaining!
The best part about these trends is that you don’t need to completely overhaul your home to stay stylish. Adding a few key pieces, like a statement jewel-toned chair or a geometric rug, can breathe fresh energy into your space without losing what makes your home uniquely yours. We’re here to help you find the pieces that not only align with these trends but also reflect your personal style and lifestyle needs. And remember, trends are for inspiration and not the rule book when it comes to designing your home :)
